Our client, A Large public sector organisation, is looking for a Forensic Accountant (G7)
Duration: 1 Year
Rate of pay: £28.69 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: As required by business needs ( 16-20 hours )
Location: Belfast

Duties of these roles will include:
– Compensation Services are responsible for the administration of the Northern Ireland Criminal Injuries Compensation schemes, to provide compensation to victims of violent crime.
– We require the services of a Forensic Accountant to review proposed Periodic Payment Orders in respect of the pecuniary loss and cost of care, in the claim of an applicant who has sustained a serious injury and/or may require life long care.
– The proposed Orders will be prepared by the applicant’s Forensic Accountant. They will need to be reviewed by a Forensic Accountant acting on behalf of Compensation Services, who will be required to review the full claim details on the Compensation Services case management system and then provide advice to Compensation Services on the proposed terms of the agreement, attend any associated consultations with Compensation Services Solicitor and instructed Counsel and if necessary, agree a Scott Schedule outlining any areas of dispute between the parties. In cases that cannot be settled in advance, the Forensic Accountant will be required to attend Panel and present relevant evidence on behalf of Compensation Services.
– We will require the advice and representation to be provided in a timely manner as settlement of the matter must take place within a tight time frame.
– We will require knowledge transfer to the in-house DP Accountant on the review and administration of periodic payment orders.
Essential Criteria:
* A Degree and 3 years experience
* Qualified forensic accountant with specific experience in dealing with Periodic Payment Orders in a legal environment. This experience should include the drawing up and administration of Period Payment Orders and/or the review of, and agreement of such orders.
