Job Opportunity: Front of House Supervisor (Omagh)

Location: Omagh
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Until 31st December 2024 (with possibility of extension)
Hours of Work:

  • Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
  • Week 2: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
  • 21 hours per week with the possibility of additional hours

Rate of Pay: £14.50 per hour

Main Duties: As the Front of House Supervisor, you will oversee the delivery of efficient and effective information, ticketing, and retail sales services to museum visitors. You will report to the Assistant Visitor Services Managers for Front of House matters and to the National Museums NI Retail Manager for retail-related tasks, including introducing new product lines and initiatives.

Essential Criteria:

  1. Education:
    • Minimum of 2 GCSEs (Grade C or above) in Maths and English (or equivalent)
      OR
    • 1 year of experience supervising a front of house team in a fast-paced, public-facing environment.
      In the absence of these qualifications:
    • 2 years of experience supervising a front of house team in a fast-paced, public-facing environment.
  2. Retail and Cash Handling Experience:
    • Proven experience in retail services and handling cash in a high-paced, public-facing setting.
  3. Customer Service Experience:
    • Strong background in delivering excellent customer service.
  4. Communication Skills:
    • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and build strong working relationships.
  5. IT Skills:
    • Proficient in using IT tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  6. Driving License:
    • A current, clean driving license is required.

Desirable Criteria:
Please note that if there is a high volume of applications, the following desirable criteria may be used for shortlisting:

  1. Experience in a museum, gallery, or major visitor attraction.
  2. Access to a vehicle or appropriate transport for site movement.
  3. Familiarity with nationally recognized visitor service standards (e.g., Customer Service Excellence, Charter Mark).
