Job Opportunity: General Radiographer (Band 5)

Location: Craigavon
Salary: £15.88 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm (flexibility required for shift work)
Contract Duration: Until 28 September 2026


About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic General Radiographer (Band 5) to join our Diagnostic Imaging team in Craigavon.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a high-quality imaging service, ensuring patient care is maintained at the highest standards while supporting the efficient operation of the department.


Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake a range of radiographic and imaging examinations as required.
  • Contribute to the provision of a safe, effective, and patient-focused imaging service.
  • Supervise and support assistant staff and student radiographers.
  • Maintain consistently high standards of radiographic practice.
  • Comply with all Radiation Protection Rules and relevant legislation, including:
    • Ionising Radiations Regulations (NI) 2017
    • Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (NI) 2018
  • Participate in daily equipment checks and quality assurance procedures.
  • Ensure high image quality by:
    • Accurately following exposure charts
    • Assessing images and adhering to guidelines
    • Consulting senior staff when required
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
  • Adopt a flexible approach to support urgent and changing service demands.
  • Adhere to all Trust policies and procedures.
  • Promote efficient use of resources and report any faults or safety concerns.

Essential Criteria

Experience

  • Experience in a broad range of general radiographic procedures (including placement experience), carried out accurately and efficiently.

Qualifications & Registration

  • Diploma of the College of Radiographers or BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography (or equivalent/higher qualification).
  • Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) or eligible to register prior to commencement.
