We are currently recruiting a Health & Wellbeing Advisor to join our Public Sector Client in Lisburn.

6 month post (with a possibility of an extension)
Main Responsibilities:
1. To assist the client with their Wellbeing Strategy. including implementation of
policies and procedures relating to physical fitness of operational personnel.
2. To develop and implement Physical Fitness Policies, and associated
fitness programmes, to ensure all operational staff are assessed and are fit for
their role.
3. To carry out fitness testing of operational personnel, including using a Covox
Analyser as appropriate, and ensure all information is recorded in a timely and
accurate manner.
4. To advise on the purchase of new fitness equipment and ensure
annual inspection and maintenance of gym equipment.
5. To ensure equipment is serviced within the guidelines laid out in the fitness
equipment maintenance tender and that accurate records are held; ensuring
all necessary repairs are carried out in a timely manner.
6. To develop, individual physical training, nutrition and dietary programmes as
required and provide fitness and dietary advice and information.
7. To develop, implement and maintain a weight management policy.
8. To develop, implement and maintain strength based training programmes for all
operational personnel in line with the requirements of the role.
9. To provide fitness rehabilitation advice/information and develop and support
rehabilitation training programmes.
10. To develop and deliver health and wellbeing training and raise awareness.
11. To collate data relating to health and wellbeing and provide timely and
relevant information for management reports.
General responsibilities:
1. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of organisational policies and procedures
impacting on health and wellbeing, including physical fitness, at both a
corporate and local level.
2. To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of developments across a broad range
of health and wellbeing related activity to include changes to regulations,
legislation and national/local terms.
3. To prepare appropriate business cases, tenders and quotations, in line with
financial and procurement regulations, policies and procedures and corporate
timescales.
4. To provide a high level of internal and external customer service including
taking ownership of customer queries and complaints and following issues
through to completion.
30. To undertake any other duties which may be assigned to meet organisational
need and the change agenda and which are reasonably regarded as within
the nature of the duties, responsibilities and grade of the post as defined.
Experience and Qualifications:
Essential
1. Possess a degree or equivalent in Sports Science (which may be a combined
degree).
2. Possess Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification or equivalent.
3. Have at least 2 years’ experience of providing fitness instruction and dietary
advice to individuals/groups of people.
4. Be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office,
including email, excel, access and word.
5. Be able to demonstrate good communication skills (both verbal and written) and
good interpersonal skills.
6. Be able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
when required.
7. Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that
will permit the candidates to meet the requirements of the post in full.
Desirable:
1. Have a qualification in sports massage/sports therapy.
2. Have a current First Aid qualification.
3. Have experience in using a Covox Analyser.
