⏰ Hours: 37.5 per week Mon- Fri 9-5


About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and organised Higher Clerical Officer (Band 3) to join our busy Radiology Team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative support to ensure the efficient day-to-day running of Radiology services across the Trust.

This is a varied and rewarding role involving appointment scheduling, patient administration, reception duties, data entry and communication with patients, healthcare professionals and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain patient information using Radiology Information Systems.
  • Book and coordinate inpatient and outpatient radiology appointments.
  • Handle telephone and face-to-face enquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Confirm appointments and help maximise clinic attendance.
  • Process appointment changes, cancellations and non-attendances in line with procedures.
  • Liaise with interpreters, ambulance services and other healthcare providers as required.
  • Produce appointment letters, reports and other administrative documentation.
  • Support reception services across Trust Radiology sites.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with GDPR and Trust policies.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must have:

  • 4 GCSEs (Grades A-C), including English Language, or equivalent/higher qualification and
  • 1 year’s experience in a clerical/administrative role or 2 years’ clerical/administrative experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to work accurately with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A responsible attitude towards confidentiality.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to transport (reasonable adjustments apply where appropriate).
  • Flexibility to work across Trust Radiology sites and participate in evening/weekend rotas when required.
