Household Recycling Centre Attendant.

We are currently recruiting a Household Recycling Attendant to join our client in Ballymena.

Location: Ballymena
Hours: 19.5 hours per week (Given the nature of their duties, the post holder may be expected to work outside of these hours at weekends, evenings and public holidays as dictated by the needs of the service.)
3 months initially
Pay: £13.69 per hour

We’re seeking a reliable and customer-focused individual to join the team as a Household Recycling Attendant. This hands-on role involves supporting the daily operations of local recycling centres, assisting the public with waste disposal, maintaining site cleanliness, and ensuring safe and efficient traffic flow.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide and assist the public with correct waste disposal and recycling
• Support segregation of materials for reuse, recycling, and general waste
• Monitor site usage and enforce access rules
• Maintain cleanliness across the site, including buildings and surrounding areas
• Complete operational paperwork and support contractors as needed
• Assist with public awareness activities and safe handling of hazardous waste
• Manage traffic flow and oversee container usage to prevent overflow

Essential Criteria (must be clearly outlined on CV)

Minimum 1 year’s experience in a waste operations environment
Minimum 1 year’s experience working within a team
Minimum 1 year’s experience in a customer service role, handling complaints and queries from the public
