Our client, a leading public sector organisation based in Belfast is looking for a HR Advisor to join their team.

Hourly rate – £13.52

Duration – 3 months initially


To provide day –to-day HR advisory and partnering role advising managers, staff, trade unions and colleagues in matters related to a range of HR issues.

This role will cover all aspects of the core Human Resources remit which includes working as part of the HR team; participating in change management activities; coaching and guidance on HR policies, procedures and processes; participation in recruitment and resourcing activities; providing advice and guidance in disciplinary, grievance, dignity at work, flexible working issues; assist in the management of attendance; ensuring statutory compliance and further development of equality plans; undertaking data analysis and providing report and various administration to support service delivery.


The post holder will be assigned specific areas of responsibility in relation to either Business Partnering, (involving employee relations, absence management, resourcing) or HR Services, (involving business administrative support, HR systems administration and management) but will be expected to work flexibly across all areas to meet the service demands and contribute to effective team working.

Criteria –

  • Qualifications
    1. Hold associate membership, or higher, of the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development (CIPD); or

    Hold a level 3 qualification (A Level, BTech, HNC, HND); or

    Have a minimum of one year’s experience of working in a HR Function


    1. Have experience of providing support / guidance across a range of human resources issues, including at least two of the following:

    · Managing Attendance

    · Recruitment and Resourcing

    · Employee Relations (e.g. Grievances, Disciplinary, Dignity at Work, Flexible Working, etc.)

    · Application of terms and conditions of employment


    1. Have experience in the use of HR Information Management Systems, for recording and monitoring information, preferably iTrent.
    2. Have experience of working in a unionised environment.
