We are currently recruiting for an AO based in Moira. The successful candidates will be required to start once the vetting paperwork and ANI completed.
Start date: ASAP
Duration: March 2025
Hourly rate – £12.59
Hours of work:
8.00 to 16.30 Monday to Thursday
8.00 to 13.30 Friday
Job duties
The main duties and responsibilities of the post-holder will include:
- Operate all hand tools and machines pertaining to conservation joinery.
- Make conservation joinery items to a high standard of conservation craftwork.
- Making templates and producing drawings.
- Working with dimensional drawings.
- Cleaning and repairing detailed historical conservation joinery.
- Cleaning and repairing timber elements of structures, buildings and monuments, including dismantling, repair and re-assembly of elements on site and in the workshop.
- Erect on site materials and structures made in the workshop.
- Load and unload materials for transport to and from site.
- Drive Departmental vehicles, including transport of colleagues and materials.
- Completing required documentation as requested.
- Carrying out general labouring duties.
- Attending training as required.
Essential Criteria:
Minimum NVQ level 2 or City & Guilds in Joinery with demonstrable experience post apprenticeship
Applicants must have a full and valid driving licence for Northern Ireland
