Conservation Joiner (AO grade).

We are currently recruiting for an AO  based in Moira. The successful candidates will be required to start once the vetting paperwork and ANI completed.

Start date: ASAP

Duration: March 2025

Hourly rate – £12.59

Hours of work:

8.00 to 16.30 Monday to Thursday

8.00 to 13.30 Friday

Job duties

The main duties and responsibilities of the post-holder will include:

• Operate all hand tools and machines pertaining to conservation joinery.
• Make conservation joinery items to a high standard of conservation craftwork.
• Making templates and producing drawings.
• Working with dimensional drawings.
• Cleaning and repairing detailed historical conservation joinery.
• Cleaning and repairing timber elements of structures, buildings and monuments, including dismantling, repair and re-assembly of elements on site and in the workshop.
• Erect on site materials and structures made in the workshop.
• Load and unload materials for transport to and from site.
• Drive Departmental vehicles, including transport of colleagues and materials.
• Completing required documentation as requested.
• Carrying out general labouring duties.
• Attending training as required.

Essential Criteria:

Minimum NVQ level 2 or City & Guilds in Joinery with demonstrable experience post apprenticeship

Applicants must have a full and valid driving licence for Northern Ireland
