We are currently recruiting for an Industrial 2 Farm Staff position at the in. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced farm worker or tractor operator to contribute to cutting-edge agricultural research and trials.

Job Details

• Location: Crossnacreevy
• Grade: Industrial 2
• Hours: 37 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
  • Friday: 8:30am – 2:00pm

About the Role

The successful candidate will work on the Research Farm, which specialises in crop trials involving:

• Wheat
• Barley
• Oats
• Grasses

Key Responsibilities

• Tractor driving and operation
• Ploughing, sowing and spraying activities
• Combining and harvesting operations
• Operating Haldrup grass harvesters
• Using Kuhn fertiliser spreaders
• Operating Kubota industrial mowers
• Supporting agricultural research trials and field plots
• General farm and machinery-related duties as required

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience in tractor driving
• Ability to operate farm machinery safely and effectively
• Experience working in an agricultural environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good attention to detail

Desirable Criteria

• Experience of ploughing, spraying, sowing and combining
• PA1 and PA2 certificates
• Knowledge of crop and grass husbandry
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing priorities
