We are currently recruiting Industrial 2 Farm Staff . This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced farm worker or tractor operator to contribute to cutting-edge agricultural research and trials.
Job Details
- Location: Crossnacreevy
- Grade: Industrial 2
- Hours: 37 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
- Friday: 8:30am – 2:00pm
Main Duties / Purpose of Job / Function of Role
Working on the AFBI Crossnacreevy research farm which specializes in trials of wheat, barley oats and grasses.
Key jobs are:
To support activities relating to trial establishment and management which entails a range of jobs such using tractors, mowers, harvesters to do jobs such as ploughing, spraying, spreading fertiliser, combining and mowing surrounds. Jobs allocated will depend on previous experience and training will be provided on the job to do the different activities and machinery.
Specific Experience / Qualifications required
Experience and evidence of handling and operating farm machinery is essential. Please list jobs and machinery used in the application process. Experience of spraying is desirable as is having the PA1 and PA2a license.
Training will be provided on the job.
Other Desirable Skills
- Experience in an agricultural setting with knowledge of crop (such as grass) production.
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Show attention to detail and capable to adapt
