Salary – up to £30000

Hours: 8.30-4.30 Monday – Friday

IT Administrator – The role:

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the company’s IT processes including the user interface with the databases held on the SQL server.
  • Manage SQL database servers and processes
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues and document changes
  • Analyse, solve and correct issues that may occur with the database system.
  • Provide general day-to-day support to staff in relation to all database queries or issues.
  • Optimise in-application SQL statements as necessary and ensuring best practices
  • Produce and maintain system process documentation for staff
  • Investigate and assess current IT software programs in use in departments (databases, Sage, Net2 remote access control, Focus etc.)
  • Help write and optimize in-application SQL statements based on specifications
  • Prepare system processes documentation
  • Design reports to be output from the system
  • Design user interface screens within the system

IT Administrator Essential Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency with SQL and its variation among popular databases (in MS SQL Server and MS Access)
  • Experience with some of the modern relational databases
  • Skilled at optimizing large complicated SQL statements
  • Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases
  • Ability to plan resource requirements
  • Capable of troubleshooting common database issues
