Job Advertisement: Labourer – Ballymena

Location: Ballymena Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday Rate of Pay: £13.69 per hour Contract: 3 months initially, with potential for extension

Role Overview: We are seeking a reliable and motivated Labourer to join our Operational Services team in Ballymena. The successful candidate will support waste collection and cleansing operations across household, commercial and public premises. This is a hands-on role involving driving duties, manual labour, and public interaction, working as part of a small, dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive and operate vehicles used for waste collection, recycling and cleansing services
• Carry out daily vehicle checks, cleaning and maintenance
• Remove refuse and litter from designated areas including roads, pavements and public spaces
• Dispose of waste at designated facilities
• Respond to public enquiries and complaints in a courteous manner
• Assist with data collection and reporting using manual or digital systems
• Undertake alternative duties during adverse weather conditions
• Maintain and manage small equipment such as brushes and shovels
• Support training of new staff and agency workers
• Ensure compliance with vehicle servicing and safety protocols

Essential Criteria:

• Minimum one year’s experience in general labouring in an outdoor environment
• Minimum one year’s experience working in a waste management setting
• Valid Category B Driving Licence
• Awareness of Health and Safety and COSHH legislation
