Labourer – Ballymena.

Location: Ballymena

Hours: 37 hours/week, Monday to Friday

Pay: £13.69 per hour

Join our operational team as a Labourer, supporting essential refuse collection, street cleansing, and recycling services across Ballymena and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely drive and maintain Council waste vehicles and equipment
• Carry out litter picking, sweeping, and illegal dumping clearance
• Engage with the public professionally and courteously
• Assist in recycling activities and waste data recording
• Support snow clearance and gritting during adverse weather
• Train and mentor new operatives
• Respond flexibly to daily operational needs across the Borough

Essential Criteria

Applicants must have:

•  At least 1 year’s experience in general labouring in an outdoor environment
• Awareness of Health & Safety and COSHH legislation

Desirable Criteria

• Valid Category B Driving Licence ⤷ Any active penalty points must be declared and will be assessed based on job relevance
• One years’ experience in general labouring in an outdoors environment
• Experience of health and safety and COSHH Knowledge
• 1 year’s experience working in a waste environment
