We’re Hiring: Labourer – Mid and East Antrim Borough Council

Locations: Ballymena • Larne • Carrickfergus

Duration: 3 months initially
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Rate of Pay: £13.26 per hour
Start Date: Immediate

Join a hardworking team delivering vital waste and cleansing services across Mid and East Antrim. This hands-on role keeps our communities clean, safe and green—and you’ll be part of the effort from day one!

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Provide driving and labouring support across household, industrial, and commercial sites
  • Handle refuse collection, street cleansing, and waste disposal with attention to safety and detail
  • Operate and maintain assigned vehicles and equipment
  • Take part in training and support new team members
  • Clear illegal dumping and conduct sweeping and litter removal duties

What You’ll Need

  • ✅ One year’s experience in outdoor general labouring
  • ✅ One year’s experience in a waste environment
  • ✅ Valid Category B Driving Licence
  • ⚠️ Must declare any driving penalty points and their codes
  • 🔍 Awareness of Health & Safety and COSHH legislation
