MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Customer Care Assistant (Lifeguard/Leisure Assistant) is responsible for providing a high level of customer care, maintaining the general cleanliness of leisure facilities, and ensuring a customer-oriented approach.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Delivery
- Ensure effective communication with all team members and line management.
- Act as a lifeguard, carry out first aid duties as necessary, and supervise/assist all customers as required.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout all leisure facilities and their vicinity. Report faults and damage accordingly.
- Correctly use and store all cleaning materials and specialized equipment while following all health & safety guidelines (COSHH/RIDDOR).
- Perform daily water tests and record all necessary information.
- Prepare, erect, dismantle, and store equipment safely within the Centre or any other leisure facilities/areas including outdoors. Actively manage, prepare, and open/close all areas accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of work and promptly report any faults or damage that may occur.
- Assist with training, coaching courses, stewarding, and other related duties when required.
- Ensure customers conduct themselves appropriately and in accordance with facility rules and regulations.
- Participate in staff development/training programs.
- Receive and store goods as required.
- Ensure all operations meet specified times regardless of weather conditions. Open/close activity areas as and when required.
General

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Qualifications and Experience
- Current NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification).
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of customer care skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A good standard of physical fitness.
