Job Description: Leisure Attendant
Location: Seven Towers Leisure Centre, Ballymena
Hours of Work: Casual on Call as and when required. Will include weekend working, bank holidays, and evenings. Successful candidates will be required to work Monday to Sunday, evenings, and public holidays as dictated by the needs of the service.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Assist with and ensure the safety of Seven Towers Leisure Centre users and maintain a high standard of cleanliness at all times.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Delivery
- Supervise the use of sports facilities including swimming pools and health suite.
- Undertake general lifeguarding duties associated with the swimming pools.
- Take statutory pool water/spa sample tests and advise Line Manager of any required adjustments.
- Distribute, erect, dismantle and retrieve equipment indoors and outdoors.
- Demonstrate the use of fitness and weights equipment.
- Undertake general and specific cleaning duties individually or as part of a team throughout the leisure centre.
- Collect user tickets, check armbands, and control access for various activity areas.
- Assist with outside recreation facilities under the Council’s control.
- Ensure the general safety of all public/users of the centre.
- Check all equipment and areas throughout the building for defects and report the same.
- Use specialized equipment within the centre in line with Health and Safety guidelines.
- Receive and store all stock.
- Provide job training to new starts and work experience students as required.
- Act as a steward during events or courses, assisting at special events and functions as directed.
General Responsibilities

- Fulfill legal Health and Safety duties, cooperating with the Council on Health & Safety matters and ensuring proper use of provided work items and personal protective equipment.

- Maintain high standards of personal accountability and adhere to the Code of Conduct for Local Government Employees.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Possession of a current lifesaving qualification: minimum National Pool Lifeguard Award or RLSS Bronze Medallion or equivalent.
- Ability to pass swim competency assessment.
