Job Description: Leisure Attendant

Location: Based at Carrickfergus Amphitheatre (may vary within Mid and East Antrim Borough Council facilities)
Hours of Work: Casual/On Call; weekends, evenings, and public holidays as per service requirements

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Responsible for providing excellent customer care, maintaining cleanliness in leisure facilities, and ensuring a customer-oriented approach.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Service Delivery

  • Effectively communicate with the team and line management.
  • Act as a lifeguard, conduct first aid duties, and assist customers as necessary.
  • Maintain high cleanliness standards in leisure facilities and the surrounding area; report faults and damage.
  • Safely use and store cleaning materials and specialized equipment, following health & safety guidelines.
  • Complete daily water tests and maintain records.
  • Set up, dismantle, and store equipment; actively manage areas; ensure all operations meet specified times.
  • Record work, report faults, and assist with training and coaching courses.
  • Ensure customers adhere to facility rules and regulations.
  • Participate in staff development/training programs and receive and store goods as required.

General Responsibilities

  • Uphold the Core Values of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council and contribute to wider organizational objectives.
  • Participate in the Council’s Performance and Development Review process.
  • Fulfill legal Health and Safety duties and contribute to anti-discrimination practices and Equality Scheme.

Essential Criteria

  • Qualifications and Experience: Current NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification)
  • Knowledge: Demonstrated customer care skills, good communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fitness: Good standard of physical fitness.
