Leisure Attendant – Seven Towers Leisure Centre, Ballymena

Location: Ballymena STLC
Pay Rate: £13.26 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Ongoing
Schedule: Monday to Sunday, including evenings and public holidays as required by the service

Seven Towers Leisure Centre is seeking reliable and motivated Leisure Attendants to support the delivery of a high‑quality leisure service for all customers.

About the Role

As a Leisure Attendant, you will work across all areas of the centre to ensure a safe, clean and customer-focused environment. You will assist with poolside supervision, facility preparation, customer service and general operations as directed by the Senior Leisure Attendant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out poolside duties across the main pool, learner pool and leisure pool in line with NOP and EAP procedures.
  • Set up and dismantle equipment for activities, events and functions.
  • Supervise changing rooms, shower areas and other designated parts of the centre.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the facility, using appropriate PPE and equipment.
  • Complete required documentation such as safety checks, cleaning schedules and incident reports.
  • Manage customer access by checking tickets and ensuring capacity and access policies are followed.
  • Provide a high level of customer care, resolving queries and supporting centre users.
  • Assist with minor maintenance tasks and report faults as required.
  • Support lessons, coaching sessions, events and activities, including those involving individuals with additional needs.
  • Assist with training and development of new staff and work placements.
  • Support event stewarding duties and opening/closing procedures.
  • Provide assistance to wheelchair users entering and exiting the building.
  • Comply fully with child protection and safeguarding requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety, COSHH and council policies.
  • Participate in staff training and maintain required qualifications such as NPLQ and first aid.
  • Carry out duties as required at other council sites when necessary.
  • Undertake any other responsibilities appropriate to the role.

    Essential Criteria

  • Current lifesaving qualification (minimum National Pool Lifeguard Qualification – NPLQ).
  • Ability to pass a swim competency assessment.
  • Sufficient fitness level to perform all duties effectively.
