MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The primary purpose of the Leisure Attendant role is to assist with ensuring the safety of Larne Leisure Centre users and maintaining high cleanliness standards.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Service Delivery

1.1 Supervise sports facilities, including swimming pools and health suites. 1.2 Perform lifeguarding duties associated with swimming pools. 1.3 Conduct statutory pool water/spa sample tests and notify the Line Manager of any required adjustments. 1.4 Set up, dismantle, and retrieve equipment indoors and outdoors. 1.5 Demonstrate the use of fitness and weights equipment. 1.6 Perform general and specific cleaning duties throughout the leisure center. 1.7 Check user tickets and control access to activity areas. 1.8 Assist with outside recreation facilities under Council’s control. 1.9 Ensure general safety of all center users. 1.10 Inspect equipment and areas for defects and report issues. 1.11 Use specialized equipment in line with Health and Safety regulations. 1.12 Receive and store stock. 1.13 Provide training to new staff and work experience students. 1.14 Perform additional duties as needed. (i) Reception duties (ii) Administer first aid (as qualified) (iii) Attend staff training sessions 1.15 Act as steward during events or courses, assisting with various tasks.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possession of a current lifesaving qualification, minimum National Pool Lifeguard Award or RLSS Bronze Medallion or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a swim competency assessment.
