Salary: Competitive DOE

Hours: Mon Thurs: 8am – 5pm Mon Thurs & Friday: 8am – 1pm

Job Requirements:

  • To carry out breakdown repairs to all factory plant, building and service equipment.
  • To manage a cost effective preventative maintenance system.
  • Schedule and carry services on all equipment.
  • Record and report on all servicing completed by the position including any subcontract work.
  • Ensuring statutory requirements of the business are met.

The candidate must be able to:

  • Diagnose and repair equipment effectively and safely in a timely manner.
  • Plan, develop and record preventative maintenance schedules that are cost effective.
  • Must be flexible and proactive in their approach, working closely with the production team to ensure the above objectives are achieved.

This typically includes:

  • Fire alarms, emergency lighting, pressure vessels, lifting equipment, fork lift trucks, extraction plant, PAT testing and safety guards.
  • To plan and undertake any continuous improvement projects.
  • To manage the maintenance role including any contractors on site ensuring suitable risk assessments, method statements and permit to works are completed to cover the stated work.
  • To plan, organise and manage contractors to ensure all breakdown repairs and servicing of equipment are completed on time and to budget.
  • Obtain quotes and raised purchase orders to meet the needs of the maintenance department.
  • Effectively organise the storage of maintenance spares and machine documentation.
  • Ensure all oils and lubricants are stored safely and disposed of correctly.

Ideal Experience:

  • A qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Maintenance Engineering
  • Apprenticeship trained/HND/ONC/City & Guilds/NVQ3 (Desirable)
  • Minimum of two year’s experience in fast pace multi-skilled maintenance role and the of working to tight schedules under pressure (Desirable)
  • Understanding of the manufacturing process – (Essential)
  • Competent at reading 2D engineering drawings and machine schematics (Essential)
  • Microsoft Office experience Excel and Word (Essential)
  • Undertaking of minor electrical work diagnostic and repairs (Desirable)
  • Have a fork lift truck license (Desirable)
  • Basic TIG and Arc Welding (Desirable)
