The Recruitment Co are looking for a Manual Machinist to join one of our clients in Warrington.

This is a permanent vacancy!

Hours: This role operates a rotating shift pattern.
6am until 2pm, Monday to Friday
2pm until 11pm, Monday to Thursday with a 6pm finish on a Friday
You must be available to work both shifts.

Pay rate: 17.5959 per hour.

What will you be doing?
– Safe and in specification manufacture of cylinders initially in Grinding & Polishing Department with potential for multi skilling.
– Reading, understanding, and interpreting complex Engineering specifications and
producing jobs with tight tolerances.
– Following, defining, documenting, and improving all site Safety, Process Control and Quality standards
– Controlling flow of received materials, documentation, and correct information to the wider team.
– Working closely with the Production, Quality and Commercial teams, upholding the values of the business to ensure deadlines are maintained.
– Ownership of process specific Quality, marking, completing, and capturing QA
documentation of all parts processed, with responsibility for compliance to robust and defined quality standards.
– Checking QA data points, ensuring fully compliant and correct documentation of
checks are present with each part prior to and after processing.
– Understanding and implementing specific customer requests and instruction from
work tickets
– Support business teams as required & continuously improve safety, quality and environmental standards directly related to role.
– Drives standards and processes with continuous development & improvement. Does not accept that today’s standard is the only standard.
– Completion of electronic and written data capture for all jobs.
– Autonomous maintenance of work area, including machinery, pedestrian, and vehicle routes within factory work area.
– Participate in small group activity and project work.
– Improve right first-time quality of the site (OTIF)

The ideal candidate will:
– Have a Mechanical Engineering background or be able to demonstrate understanding
– Be able to confidently use a DTI, micrometer and have a working knowledge of TIR
– Be able to demonstrate experience using non-CNC Cylindrical Grinder & Lathes or similar.
– Have a close attention to detail and robust problem-solving skills.
– Be goal oriented and willing to own personal development whilst embracing IT and other new technologies.
– Have a willingness to embrace change and continuous improvement methods.
– Have an FLT license (not essential but preferred)
