Location: Belfast, Lisburn Road, BT7 9AB
Pay Rate: Band 2 £11.45 per hour
Working Hours: Mon to Fri 9-5

About Us:
As a Materials Services Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of hospitals by managing the ordering, delivery, and storage of essential goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Utilize electronic materials management (EMM) systems to schedule re-ordering of stocks and input data.
  2. Deliver goods to various departments, remove packaging, and ensure proper storage.
  3. Implement stock rotation procedures to maintain inventory accuracy.
  4. Manage waste packaging disposal in compliance with regulations.
  5. Receive deliveries and follow established procedures for documentation.
  6. Liaise with ward/department staff to monitor stock levels and address supply-related issues.
  7. Utilize technology such as barcode scanners and PCs to facilitate information flow.
  8. Develop familiarity with hospital products and equipment.
  9. Ensure supplies are located according to customer requirements.
  10. Assist with the receipt, checking, and issuing of local stock.
  11. Maintain general store duties including housekeeping and equipment operation.
  12. Provide cover for other on-site stores as needed.
  13. Demonstrate flexibility to meet service requirements.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in materials management or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to use technology effectively.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple hospital sites.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of service.

Criteria:

1A. Two years relevant experience in a
Procurement or Logistics environment

OR

1B. Three GCSE grades A-C including
Mathematics and English Language or NVQ Level
2 or GNVQ or equivalent PLUS One year’s
relevant experience in a
procurement or logistics environment.
