Job Title: Mechanical Technician
Location: Cullompton
Salary: £33,000
Hours: 40 hours per week (08:00 – 16:00 Monday – Friday) With a compulsory 1 in 4 weekend
We have an incredible opportunity to work with one of our very well established clients in Cullompton who are currently looking for a Mechanical Technician on a permanent basis.
The role will involve working within a team of Engineers and responding to breakdown maintenance, preventative maintenance schedules, production improvement programmes and day to day site maintenance. Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Technician will be responsible for completing many different Mechanical
Engineering tasks.

- Must adhere to company policy and Standards
- Pay attention to detail and inform Company or client of any mistakes or concerns
- Must possess excellent planning and problem-solving skills
- Be able to follow instructions and adhere to procedures at all times
- Be confident and to ask for clarification where there is uncertainty
- Be resilient and take on responsibility while demonstrating integrity and honesty in performing job role
- Attend work or client sites, on time, and provide first class service to the business or client
- Have good literacy skills and to be able to record information accurately on all relevant documentation as business and client needs dictate
- Always adhere to Health and Safety rules and make certain that these are executed correctly and that others working alongside are also working safely
- To report any Health and Safety accident or near miss incident in a timely and correct manner
- To always wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the work undertaken as required
- Ensure that appropriate work clothing is worn including footwear
- To keep healthy and perform work activities to the best of ability
- Be able to work as part of a team or on own initiative
- Possess good communication skills
ROLE:
Assisting Mechanical Engineers with:
- General Mechanical fitting, component assembly/dissemble.
- Centrifugal Pumps.
- All types of welding.
- Fabrication
- Threaded & welded pipe work.
- Machining (Milling & Turning).
- Industrial environments.
- Must adhere to all Health and Safety standards and regulations, PPE requirements at all times and make certain familiar with these
- Have a legal responsibility under Section 7 and 8 of the Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) (1974) to take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of other persons who may be affected by your acts or omissions
- There are various Acts and Regulations that place responsibility on individuals whilst at work
- The HASAWA (1974) and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations (1999) are the two most important but by no means the only one
- Copies of these legislative documents are held in the Health and Safety Function. If you should require any clarification or assistance, contact the Head of Health and

- Must have read, understand and agree with all company Policies including Social Media and Bribery and Corruption Policies
- Where company or hired vehicle is provided be fully aware of Policy and criteria for the use of this benefit
ESSENTIAL:
- Clean driving licence where applicable
- If driving to adhere to Highway rules and company policy
- Be prepared to travel to client sites as business needs dictate
- Ability to demonstrate strong personal integrity
- Be prepared to support problem solving when requested
- Follow instructions carefully and methodically
- Promote continuous improvement and become involved in new ideas as requested
- Excellent standard of personal hygiene
