Mobile Library Manager

Location: Dungannon
Department: Library Services
Salary: £29,064 – £31,021 per annum
Hours: 36 hours per week
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

The Opportunity

Library Services is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Mobile Library Manager to deliver high-quality library services to local communities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong customer service experience, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for supporting learning and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a professional, welcoming, and accessible mobile library service.
  • Promote reading, learning opportunities, and library programmes within local communities.
  • Provide excellent customer service to a diverse range of customers, including children and older people.
  • Safely operate and manage the mobile library vehicle.
  • Maintain accurate records and process transactions using ICT systems.
  • Assist with stock management, merchandising, and library displays.
  • Support the achievement of service objectives and performance targets.
  • Work flexibly across a range of service locations as required.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must possess:

Either:

  • Two GCE A Levels (or equivalent/higher qualification) plus a minimum of two years’ customer-facing experience gained within the last seven years;

OR

  • A minimum of three years’ customer-facing experience gained within the last nine years.

In addition, applicants must have:

  • A current Category C1 Driving Licence (up to 7.5 tonnes).
  • At least one year’s experience delivering face-to-face customer service to a diverse range of people, including children and older people.
  • Experience using ICT systems and applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
