Job Opportunity: Mobile Library Manager
Department: Library Services
Hours: 36 hours per week
Salary: £29,064 – £31,021 per annum (NJC SCP 13-17)
About the Role
Libraries NI is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Mobile Library Manager to join the Library Services team based in Dungannon.
This is an exciting opportunity to manage and deliver a high-quality mobile library service, bringing library resources and services directly to communities across the region. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting reading, learning, and community engagement while ensuring excellent customer service for library users of all ages.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a welcoming and professional mobile library service to customers.
- Promote library services, resources, and community programmes.
- Support and assist a diverse range of customers, including children and older people.
- Operate and manage the mobile library vehicle safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate library records and process transactions using ICT systems.
- Assist with stock management and display of library materials.
- Contribute to the achievement of service objectives and performance targets.
- Work flexibly across a range of service points as required.
Essential Criteria
Applicants must demonstrate:
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of two GCE A Levels (or equivalent/higher qualification) plus two years’ experience in a customer-facing role within the last seven years;
OR
- A minimum of three years’ experience in a customer-facing role within the last nine years.
In addition, applicants must have:
- A current Category C1 driving licence, permitting the driving of vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes.
- At least one year’s experience contributing to the promotion and delivery of customer services to a diverse range of people, including children and older people, in a face-to-face environment.
- Experience of using current ICT systems and applications within an information or learning environment.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet competing deadlines.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Other Requirements
- Ability to work a mixture of mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends as required.
- Ability to work both at the base location and other service points.
- Must have no criminal record that would prevent working with children, young people, or adults at risk.
- Access to suitable transport to meet service requirements.

Week 1
- Monday: 9:00am – 5:00pm (48-minute break)
- Tuesday: 9:00am – 5:00pm (48-minute break)
- Wednesday: 9:00am – 5:00pm (48-minute break)
- Thursday: 9:00am – 5:00pm (48-minute break)
- Friday: 9:00am – 5:00pm (48-minute break)
