Toilet Attendant – Larne

Location: Larne
Pay Grade: £13.26 per hour (10% shift allowance is applied to all hours worked. In addition, enhanced weekend rates apply: time and a half on Saturdays and double time on Sundays)

Hours: 33 hours per week (Seasonal working will apply averaging 37 hours per week Monday to Sunday)

  • Summer hours: April to September, average 41 hours
  • Winter hours: October to March, average 33 hours

Contract: 3‑month temporary contract, with possible extension


About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and customer‑focused Toilet Attendant to help maintain high standards within public toilet facilities in Larne. As a key public‑facing member of the team, you will ensure facilities remain clean, safe, well‑stocked, and welcoming for all users.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across public toilet facilities
  • Replenish consumables, including soap, toilet tissue, and hand towels
  • Report maintenance issues, damage, or vandalism promptly
  • Engage courteously and professionally with members of the public
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Support the wider team in ensuring facilities remain safe and operational

Essential Criteria (Shortlisting Requirements)

  • Full UK driving license (own transport not necessary)
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to manage difficult or aggressive behaviour from members of the public
  • Clear understanding of the duties associated with the post
  • Awareness of Health & Safety standards in the workplace

Additional Information

  • This is a temporary post for 3 months, with potential for extension
  • Uniform and full training will be provided
  • Applicants must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays if required
