The Recruitment Co are recruiting for experienced Order Pickers & Goods in Operatives for our distribution client based in Hyde.

The Job Roles:

Goods-In Operative:

The role will involve unloading containers and other vehicles by hand, checking off deliveries against delivery notes, doing spot checks on the boxes, putting stock into back up locations.
You will also be involved in replenishing pick faces of stock from those deliveries. This role will also involve a lot of walking, lifting and the use of steps – box weights can vary from 5kg to 30kg, and using the steps can take you up to heights of 6-8 ft, so candidates need to be physically fit and comfortable working at heights.
Other duties will include general housekeeping and loading of vehicles
Candidates must be able to work weekend overtime during busy periods.

Order Picker:

The role will involve picking orders from pick sheets – the pick sheets will show what products need to be picked and the products are in numerical order on the pick sheets, and pick face locations are also in numerical order.
Orders can range from a 1 piece order to an order of several 1000 pieces.
The role will also involve a lot of walking, lifting and the use of steps, box weights can vary from 5kg to 25kg, and using the steps can take you up to heights of 6-8 ft, so candidates need to be physically fit and comfortable working at heights.
Other duties will involve general housekeeping and the unloading and loading of vehicles.

Working Hours:

Monday – Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00 ( 1×10 min break, 1 x 20 min break & 1 x 30 min lunch)
Friday: 09:00 – 16:00 (1 x 20 min break & 1 x 30 min lunch)
Breaks are unpaid

Pay Rates:

The basic pay is £12.21 per hour increasing to £12.31 per hour
Overtime on Saturdays is paid at time and a half
Overtime on Sundays is paid at double time

Ongoing work, potentially leading to permanent work for the right candidates.
