Pharmacy Assistant – Antrim

Salary: £12.21/hour Hours: 37.5/week, Monday to Friday

 Key Duties

Assist with the receipt, storage, distribution, and supply of medicines, dressings, and other healthcare items. Responsibilities include:

  • Stock control and rotation
  • Processing ward requisitions
  • Assembling IV fluids and procedure packs
  • Dispensing and packaging medications
  • Supporting community orders and vaccine delivery
  • Liaising with pharmacy, nursing, and clerical staff
  • Maintaining records and using the JAC system
  • Engaging in aseptic unit cleaning and preparation
  • Delivering prescriptions and controlled drugs
  • Providing customer service and reception cover
  • Adhering to safety standards and infection control measures

 

 Requirements

  • 5 GCSEs (A–G), including English and Maths (Grade C or above), or
  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services / BTEC Level 2 Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
  • Willingness to complete the required Level 2 course if not already held.
