Job Opportunity: Preservation Assistant

Pay: £12.05 per hour (Paid Weekly)
Location: Titanic Boulevard, Belfast, BT3
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 4 Months
Working Pattern: 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday

Job Outline:

As a Preservation Assistant at Public Records Northern Ireland, your primary responsibilities will include retrieving and returning documents to fulfill both customer and staff orders. You will also be responsible for the physical preservation of records, including archive and store maintenance. This role is physically demanding and involves considerable standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting, and carrying. Typical duties include lifting and carrying boxes of records and books weighing up to 8 kg, as well as climbing ladders to retrieve and return records housed in racked shelving.

Essential Criteria:

  • Maths & English GCSEs at Grade A-C (or Level 2 Equivalent)
  • Basic Access NI Check
