Job Title: Process Operator/Laborer

Location: Newport

Salary: £12.50 + 15% shift allowance so £14.37 per hour

Hours: Full time working Monday to Friday on a 3 shift Rota
Mornings 6am – 2pm
Afternoons 2pm – 10pm
Nights 10pm-6am Mon-Fri

Our very well established client in Newport is currently recruiting a Process Operator to join them on a temporary basis.

Process Operator/Laborer you will be responsible for managing the machine you are working on. You will be Loading and unloading materials. Weighing and recording weights of materials on a computer. You will be working in the steel industry so previous experience in this sector is preferable.

• Preparation of raw materials.
• Oven drying
• Blending and Crushing
• Container Loading & storage
• Working in the Furnace
• Jet Milling
• Extrusion
• Wash plant
• Graphite Die maintenance
• Hot Pressing
• Processing contract pressings
• General Labouring
• Making Casings

You will need to have:

• A strong work ethic as this is a very labor intense role
• Computer literate
• Be very vigilant and health and safety conscious
• Be comfortable with heavy lifting
• Be happy Working in a hot, dusty and load environment (equipment supplied)
• Preferably someone who has experience in the steel or metal industry
