Job Title: Procurement Manager
Salary: Upto £45,000p/a DOE
Hours: Monday To Friday (Full time Office based)
Locations: Irlam M44

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure uninterrupted and cost-effective supply of a portfolio of raw materials, goods, and services necessary for our business operations, including sales, production, technical, and engineering.
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships to negotiate and maintain price and supply conditions, optimizing commercial terms and ensuring supply is maintained.
  • Implement and manage contracts as appropriate, ensuring compliance and maximizing efficiency.
  • Develop an understanding of the market for the raw materials, products, and services purchased, identifying factors that influence availability and pricing.
  • Anticipate, manage, and communicate significant market changes that may impact our supply chain.
  • Identify and select sources of assigned raw materials, products, and services, working with the supplier base to discover new sources and technologies that may provide advantages.
  • Manage and oversee a team of Buyers, ensuring they effectively carry out their procurement responsibilities.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimise the purchasing process and achieve cost savings for the company.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their Procurement needs and provide guidance and support in identifying suitable suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and negotiate contracts, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for the business.
  • Monitor and analyse market trends and supplier performance to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Stay up to date with industry regulations and compliance requirements related to procurement and ensure the team adheres to them.
  • Train and develop team members, providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to enhance their performance.

Qualifications:

  • CIPS L4 minimum qualification.
  • Strong background in strategic purchasing across direct and indirect categories.
  • Proven experience in supply chain management and delivering continuous year-on-year savings and improvements.
  • Familiarity with FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry.
  • Knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to handle complexity and manage critical materials, products, and services with an annual spend exceeding £40m.
  • Proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

Vital Qualifications:

  • CIPS L4 minimum,

  • MRP
