Job Title: Product and Supplier Quality Technologist
Hours: 37.5hrs Mon – Friday Full time
Location: Denton M34
Salary: £28,000 – £30,000p/a
Permanent Opportunity
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing product artwork – Working closely with NPD Team, approval of artwork files and proofs at various stages in the NPD critical path.
- Manage the product inspection schedule – Undertake full quality assessments of pre-shipment samples, including implementation and follow up of any action required. Specific attention paid to customer requirements and product specifications.
- Management of the supplier approval system – By risk assessment and visit / audit (UK and Global suppliers).
- Submission of compliance data – Working with customers and their nominated partners to ensure the required data is supplied in an accurate and timely manner.
- Dealing with enquiries – Responding to requests for product or supplier information. These requests may originate internally from colleagues or externally (e.g. consumers, retailers, shipping agents).
- Management of co-packing and rework – Communication and liaison with approved co-packers, issuing and agreeing instructions in the form of specifications and samples, management of label supply.
Candidate requirements:
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science related subject or demonstrated experience in the food industry working with cross functional departments and with 3rd party manufacturers.
- Good knowledge of food safety, HACCP and GFSI recognised standards.
- Competent in MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook.
- A confident communicator, capable of building relationships with internal and external teams.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Conscientious.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible to travel within the UK and internationally.
- Team player – confident, friendly and personable.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Desirable:
- Prior experience internal and external auditing.
- Experience of working with major retailers.
