Location: Craigavon
Hours: 37 per week, Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00
Hourly Rate: £19.32
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our AM Project Delivery Management team. This temporary role provides essential cover within the Regional Project Delivery South unit and plays a key part in supporting the efficient delivery of the client’s investment programme.
The successful candidate will play a critical commercial role, ensuring value for money, contract compliance, risk mitigation, and timely project progression.
Key Responsibilities
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will:
Contract & Commercial Management
- Receive and evaluate tenders and quotations
- Prepare agreements, contracts, and supporting documents
- Administer contracts to ensure value for money and minimise commercial risk
- Interpret contract terms and conditions, advising on risk reduction and performance improvement
Risk Management
- Support development and implementation of risk mitigation measures
- Manage and maintain risk registers where required
- Escalate non‑compliance and risk issues promptly to the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager
Contractor & Consultant Liaison
- Maintain regular dialogue with contractors and consultants to support efficient project progress
- Raise certificates and instructions for issue to contractors/consultants
Programme & Budget Oversight
- Support the effective delivery of the investment programme
- Monitor budgets, undertake benchmarking, forecasting and cash‑flow projections
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of scheme paperwork
- Maintain up‑to‑date information in relevant IT systems for performance monitoring
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- 1–5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role
- IT proficiency: Intermediate level
- Strong understanding of contract administration, risk management, and commercial best practice
- Ability to manage documentation, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines
Qualifications
- Quantity Surveying qualification: BSc, HND, or HNC in a construction‑related discipline
Other Requirements
- Ability to support risk mitigation and commercial decision‑making
- Strong communication and liaison skills
- Access NI (Basic) required
