Ranger Position- Annacloy
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Annacloy
Duration: 3 Months, Possibility of Extension
Hours of Work: 3-week working rota, 2x RD’s with one weekend off in every three, Summer hours between 0900 – 1700
Rate of Pay: £11.99 Per Hour
Job Purpose:
- Provide support to the site management in the presentation, maintenance, and conservation of State Care Monuments.
- Assist in managing visitor access to State Care Monuments.
- Facilitate events and activities at State Care Monuments.
- Assist in delivering visitor services at State Care Monuments.
- Support the Premises Officer in managing assigned buildings.
- Monitor project delivery.
Main Duties Include:
- Site Presentation:
- Outdoor maintenance including grass cutting, hedge trimming, and fencing.
- Cleaning and minor maintenance of buildings.
- Ensure site furniture/signage is well presented.
- Maintain Departmental vehicles, plant, and machinery.
- Conduct visitor surveys.
- Animal and plant control.
- Operating specialist equipment/machinery.
- Upkeep and data collection from visitor number counters.
- Visitor Services:
- Escorting/supervising groups.
- Assisting with events and guided tours.
- Setting up displays/exhibitions and interpretative materials.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Compliance with Health and Safety requirements including lone working policy, site inspections, risk assessments, and emergency response.
- Other Duties:
- Providing cover for designated State Care sites.
- Opening/closing and securing sites and car parks.
- Patrolling sites/buildings and enforcing bylaws.
- Operating audiovisual, IT, and camera equipment.
- Maintaining site information and records.
- Building relationships with local stakeholders.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- 1 year’s cumulative experience in maintenance, heritage promotion, or customer-facing roles.
- Full Category B driving licence valid for Northern Ireland.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- 1 year’s cumulative experience in a customer-facing role.
