Now Hiring: Band 4 Residential Support Worker – Newry
£13.57 per hour basic rate
Full-time | Rotational shifts covering 24/7
Make a lasting impact by supporting children and young people with intellectual disabilities in a dynamic residential setting. Based across Carrickore, Oakland’s, and Bluebell House, this role offers a truly meaningful opportunity to join a team delivering short breaks and intensive care using best-practice therapeutic approaches.
Your Day-to-Day
- Provide daily care and supervision, supporting therapeutic interventions alongside experienced colleagues.
- Maintain detailed care records and communicate regularly with families, educators, and other professionals.
- Be a role model and build healthy relationships through household activities, outings, and community engagement.
- Support personal care, cooking, clothing upkeep, and recreational planning.
- Uphold safety standards and help with facility finances.
- Participate in meetings, training, and development opportunities.
What You’ll Need
- Age Requirement: Must be 21+
- Qualifications & Experience (one of the following):
- NVQ/QCF/RQF Level 3 in Caring for Children/Young People (or equivalent) with 1 year’s care experience
- Level 2 qualification with 2 years’ experience
- 4 GCSEs (A–C including English) plus 3 years’ experience
- Registration: Registered or eligible for immediate registration with NISCC (Social Care)
- Flexibility: Willing and able to work across a full 24/7 rota including weekends
- Transport: Full UK driving licence and access to a car (reasonable accommodation available for disabilities)
Experience working therapeutically with children or young people is a strong asset.
