We are currently recruiting an Admin Officer for our client based in Belfast, Shankill. The successful candidates will be required to start once the vetting paperwork and ANI completed.
Start date: ASAP (3rd November preferred start date)
Rate of pay: £17.43
Duration: 29/3/2026
Hours of work: 37
Key Responsibilities:
This post supports the work of the Environmental Farming Scheme (EFS) Monitoring & Evaluation Framework (MEF) Work Package 1 (Habitats) to evaluate the effects of EFS on the condition of priority habitats. The postholder will assist the EFS MEF Habitats Team in monitoring priority habitats and will involve a significant amount of fieldwork involving surveys of priority habitats and measuring and recording various vegetation and environmental attributes using an established methodology and Trimble GNSS recording devices using Survey 123 and Field Maps software. The postholder will also assist the team in collating data and report writing.
Essential Criteria applicants must have:
- Degree & 4 GCE/GCSE ‘O’ Levels, grades A-C, in separate subjects which must include English, Mathematics and one Science subject (Proof of certs required).
- 2 years continuous experience gained within the last 8 years in a paid, voluntary or academic capacity associated with the conservation or assessment of our natural terrestrial or freshwater heritage (ecosystems, habitats or species), such as in one or a combination of the following:
– Experience of species and habitats management/restoration
– Conducting ecological surveys (including mapping, recording and monitoring of scientific data)
– Professional standard report writing and preparation
- A full driving licence and access to your own mode of transport
- Ability to work across various physically challenging terrains, in remote locations.
Essential Criteria applicants must have:
- Good knowledge of NI habitats and good plant ID skills.
- Experience in using GIS software such as ArcMap or ArcPro
- Experience in using MS Excel to collate and process data.
