Key Responsibilities:

The temporary scientific officer will provide administrative & scientific support to the WasteDataFlow / Quarterly Waste ReturnsTeam based within NIEA’s Regulation Unit.
The temporary scientific officer will be required to:
Assess and process quarterly waste returns
Assess and process landfill operator returns
Checking input information on Excel / Access databases
Preparing reports and statistics as required
Following / editing of procedures
Providing information for EIR / FOIs
Supporting management
Electronic filing of information

Essential Criteria applicants must have:

Proof of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths grade C or above or the equivalent to this.

Excellent IT skills, including use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent communication skills.

Practical experience of working in a customer based environment. Experience to include:
Dealing with deadlines
Good numeracy / experience of Excel data manipulation
Experience in Regulation and/or data analysis
Experience may be gained in academic/voluntary or work-related fields.
