The Recruitment Co is currently recruiting for a shift engineer for our busy Client based in the Wellington area.
This is a permanent position with a competitive salary
Working hours are : Sunday to Thursday 10pm – 6am
You will be part of an engineering team delivering PMI’s on the machines whilst delivering a world class engineering support service across the site. This includes machinery breakdown repairs and other engineering activities that are required.
Duties
- Ensure PMI activities are carried out effectively and efficiently;
- Carry out requests from lead engineers/operational team leaders where reasonably practical.
- Liaise with the PMI lead engineer to ensure PMI tasks are completed.
- Attend breakdowns as directed by lead engineers and operational team leaders.
- Liaise with machine operatives to ensure day to day running is effective and efficient;
- Planned maintenance, inspection and continuous improvement of electrical systems;
- Attending breakdowns in timely manner;
- Ongoing project work;
- Support and maintenance of all equipment.
- Communicating all issues and results with the engineering team;
- Assisting the mechanical engineers where needed;
- Identifying spare parts;
- Communicating with machine manufacturers;
- Ensuring smooth running of your shift;
- Maintaining a clean & tidy working environment;
- Ensure all parts used or required are reported to the PMI lead Engineer or Engineering purchasing team.
The ideal candidate
- Experienced electrically biassed maintenance engineer within a manufacturing environment;
- City and Guilds/NVQ Level 3 qualified at a minimum;
- Team player, willing to drive other staff in delivering the customer’s requirements;
- Highly motivated and flexible to deal with constantly changing demands with a fast-paced production environment;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
