Job Opportunity: Staff Officer (Policy Development)

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm
Location: Upper Malone Road
Duration: 6-9 months
Rate of Pay: £17.09 per hour

Are you passionate about shaping policies that make a real difference? We’re seeking a dedicated Staff Officer to join our team and drive forward policy development initiatives. As a Staff Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in reviewing and updating our policies to ensure they align with our organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Main Duties: As a key member of our team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing a comprehensive policy schedule for HR and Operations Policies.
  • Reviewing and implementing new Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing and implementing HR policies and procedures to foster a supportive and inclusive workplace.
  • Reviewing and implementing Operations/Governance policies and procedures to enhance organizational efficiency.
  • Developing a new Policy Register on our intranet site for easy access and ongoing policy review.
  • Drafting Equality Impact Assessments, Rural Needs assessments, and supplementary Board Papers.
  • Ensuring policies are reviewed in consultation with Trade Unions to promote fairness and transparency.

Essential Experience: To excel in this role, you’ll need:

  • Education to ‘A’ Level (or equivalent).
  • Two years’ previous experience in a senior administrative role, preferably in a policy-focused environment.
  • Proven ability to research complex issues, analyze policy documents, and reports effectively.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey information concisely and accurately.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively towards shared objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently and independently.
