Our client, A Large public sector organisation, based in Stormont is looking for a Staff Officer to join their team.

Duration: March 2026 with possible extension

Rate of pay: £19.59

Location: Stormont(Fulltime office based)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Start date: ASAP

Main Duties:

The Project and Programme Manager will support the Deputy Principal (DP) in providing high-level operational support to the Head of the Civil Service (HOCS) in delivering the UK Honours system in NI.
The Project and Programme Managerwill be responsible for Project Managing the Honour Process in Northern Ireland, The individual’s duties will broadly reflect the duties of a Staff Officer in the NICS and will include the following:
• Manage the operational delivery of the NI Honours process.
• Engage with senior officials, internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage all correspondence ensuring informationis handled professionally and in a timely manner.
• Ensure records are managed and processed accordingly.
• Support the Deputy Principal with communications; drafting correspondence; briefings; responses to Assembly Questions; drafting submissions; Finance returns; Freedom of Information requests relevant to the Head of Civil Service Office; provide advice and recommendations.
• Lead, motivate, support and develop staff.
• When required support other work of the Head of Civil Service office

 

Essential Criteria:

  •  5 GCSEs A-C (Must include Maths and English)
  • Degree
  • Excellent written and oral communicationskills
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Staff management experience
  • Strong personal drive and motivation with ability to deliver on objectives and at pace meeting deadlines
  • Collaborative working
  • Strong leadership capabilities supporting the team and line manager.
  • Effective decision making
  • Analysis of information
