Position: Statistical Officer (SO)
Pay Rate: £19.59 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday with flexible working arrangements (core hours 10am-12pm; 2pm-4pm)
Duration: 4/10/26 with possibility of extension
Start Date: 02/06/26
Location: Castle Buildings, Stormont Estate, Belfast BT4 3SL
Job Duties:
- The main responsibilities and duties of the post-holder will include, but are not limited to: provide advice, guidance and a full analytical research, data collection and monitoring & evaluation service to policy teams working on Public Appointments and Good Relations.
- Tasks could include sourcing and quality assuring data,providing advice on monitoring and evaluation and using SPSS to do statistical analysis, producing official statistics report, producing management information reports, survey work including sample and questionnaire design; respond to ad hoc data queries; represent the branch/department at liaison/steering groups and other meetings as required
Essential Criteria:
- 5 GCSE’s A*-C including Maths and English (must be able to show evidence)
- Applicants must have At least a second class honours degree [2.2] that includes at least one module in statistics, data analysis or social science research methods
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office software.
- Experience with report writing.
- Familiar with using SPSS or other statistical package.
Desired Experience:
- Experience using R or Power BI would be desirable.
*The successful applicant will be required to complete an Access NI during registration*
