We are currently recruiting for an Statistical officer based in Belfast. The successful candidates will be required to start once the vetting paperwork, ANI clearance has been completed.

Start date: ASAP

Duration: 6 Months with a possibility of extension

Rate of pay: £19.59

Hours of work: 9 to 5; Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

– Data cleaning and validation;
– Data processing / statistical procedures (e.g. imputation, grossing, outlier methods) to produce preliminary estimates;
– Produce draft publication and release documentation for clearance by G7 Statistician, including draft lines and infographics for social media;
– Respond to a variety of adhoc statistical queries;
– Professional development through training and seminars.

Essential Criteria applicants must have:

Applicants must have At least a second class honours degree [2.2] that includes at least one module in statistics, data analysis or social science research methods

Experience with MS Excel required..
The post involves statistical analysis and production of Official Statistics to the standards required by the Code of Practice for Official Statistics.

Experience in using R and SQL would be beneficial

Proof of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths grade C or above or the equivalent and 3 A-levels

· Strong organisational and administrative skills.

Access to a vehicle/form of transport as will be required to undertake in person meetings with and observation visits with Funded groups across the province (some of these areas will be rural and not on public transport routes).
