Location: Newry
Pay Rate: £12.75 – £21.55 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Working Pattern

Applicants may be required to work one of the following rota patterns:

  • 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, including every other weekend, with shifts between 7:30am and 8:00pmOR
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with shifts on a rota basis between 7:30am and 8:00pm.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for day-to-day supervision within the department, ensuring high standards of customer/patient service, staff performance, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and coordinate staff training, including:
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • E-learning programmes
    • Staff inductions
    • Till training
    • Other departmental training requirements
  • Prepare and manage staff rotas.
  • Arrange cover for sickness absence and other staffing shortages.
  • Process and monitor annual leave and holiday requests.
  • Complete a range of departmental administrative duties.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP and all relevant food safety procedures.
  • Develop and oversee daily work schedules.
  • Conduct quality audits and service checks at ward level.
  • Support and supervise staff to ensure high standards of patient/customer service.
  • Promote compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.

Essential Criteria

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a customer service or patient service role within:
    • Healthcare environment, or
    • the Hospitality industry.
  • Experience of supervising staff or coordinating day-to-day operational activities.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and effectively within a busy service environment.
