📍 Location: Craigavon Hospital
⏱ Hours: 25+ per week | As & When (flexible, short‑notice cover)
💼 Contract: Maternity Cover – Relief
🗓 Shifts: Days, nights, evenings, weekends, bank holidays

💷 Pay Rates

• Standard: £12.51 per hour
• Unsocial Hours (after 8pm Mon-Fri & all day Saturday): £17.64 per hour
• Sunday Rate: £22.90 per hour

📝 About the Role

We are recruiting an As & When Switchboard Operator to support our public sector client within the busy hospital switchboard at Craigavon Hospital. This is a vital operational role requiring excellent communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure and at short notice.

📞 Key Duties

• Operate the Trust telephone systems promptly, efficiently, and professionally
• Prioritise responsibilities, especially during emergencies or system failures
• Operate the Trust’s internal/external paging systems and communication platforms
• Handle emergency calls, including cardiac arrests, maternity emergencies, and major incidents
• Monitor estates alarm boards and report faults or alarms appropriately
• Participate in live exercise drills for all emergency response teams

✔️ What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will be able to:

• Work on an As & When basis with short‑notice availability
• Work any shift pattern across all 365 days, including nights and weekends
• Commit to working evenings and every other weekend
• Ideally have access to their own transport
• Be reliable, flexible, and able to adapt to changing service demands

🎓 Essential Criteria

Candidates must meet one of the following routes:

• 5 GCSEs, including English & Maths at Grade C or above (or equivalent)AND
• 1 year’s experience working in an administrative role

OR

• 2 years’ administration experience

Additional Essential Requirement

• Experience operating a busy switchboard
