Looking for a hands-on role with an immediate start? The Recruitment Co. is recruiting a Waste Labourer for our client based in Larne.

Location: Larne
Pay Rate: £13.69 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week (Tuesday – Friday)
Duration: 3 months initially, with possible extension

About the Role

Join a busy operational team providing essential waste collection, recycling and cleansing services across the borough. This is a varied outdoor role requiring a strong work ethic, a commitment to health and safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Key Duties

✅ Waste collection and recycling operations
✅ Street cleansing and litter removal across public areas
✅ Assisting with vehicle checks, cleaning and inspections
✅ Operating collection equipment and reporting defects
✅ Supporting recycling initiatives and public engagement activities
✅ Handling and disposing of waste safely and efficiently
✅ Completing daily records and reporting incomplete tasks
✅ Assisting with snow clearance and gritting when required
✅ Responding professionally to public enquiries
✅ Supporting general operational and environmental services as directed

Essential Criteria

✔️ Minimum 1 year’s experience in general labouring within an outdoor environment
✔️ 1 year’s previous experience working in a waste environment
✔️ Awareness of Health & Safety and COSHH legislation
✔️ Valid Category B Driving Licence
✔️ Any active penalty points must be declared and will be assessed in relation to the role
