Workshop Manager – £40-50k – Bolton – Bespoke Machinery Fabrication
The Recruitment Co are looking for a highly experienced works manager to join our growing client in Bolton.
This is Mon-Thurs 8:15-5 with an early finish on Fridays.
Overview
A leadership role to manage the manufacturing and production operations, planning of fabrication resources (labour & materials), quality & inspection, through to equipment delivery, working alongside works supervisor.
The role would suit an energetic candidate with experience of supervising a small fabrication team looking to make their next step in their career.
Duties
-
Planning of manufacturing operations (to delivery schedules)
-
Allocation of tasks for workshop employees and measuring ‘real-time’ and ongoing performance
-
Team management with one to one appraisals and regular toolbox talks
-
Forward planning of project and resource requirements and reporting progress to the production manager, together with any agreed KPIs such as Safety/Quality/Cost/Delivery issues

Oversee production processes of the fabrication team

Apply logistical skills
-
Provide clear communication of expectations to the team.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (1st and 3rd angle)

Manage SHEQ (safety, health, environmental, quality)

Good communication skills written emails and verbal communication

Leadership skills/motivator

Confident in Planning, scheduling, problem solving

Assertiveness/delegate

Handle multiple overlapping tasks

Dynamic and energizing attitude 06/10/24

Recognized apprenticeship in engineering (sheet metal/welding/technician)

City & Guilds/ NVQ Level 3 (3 years)

Relevant engineering qualification NVQ Level 2 or 3

HNC/HND/Degree in production and/or manufacturing engineering
-
Knowledge of food and pharmaceutical quality standards
-
Experience of production or engineering management
-
Solid and proven engineering background
-
Understanding operations
