7 signs it’s time to move on

7 signs it’s time to move on.

It’s easy to fall into a rut when you’re in an unfulfilling role, and not even realise it.

We’ve all been there at one point or another, going through the day like some sort of work zombie, leave for work, do work, leave work, bed.

There is a better way, though, maybe you just need a new job…

You have a terrible work/life balance

The most important thing to get from work is the ability to use your hard earned wage in real life. Spending all of your time in work and missing out on your personal life can be detrimental to your health, and make it difficult for you to find the motivation necessary for your role.

You’re not giving work your all

Losing your productivity at work, even though you’ re more than capable of performing these tasks could be a sign that you’ve just lost interest.

Is there even a right side of the bed anymore?

Being miserable when you wake up is you dreading going into the office. It’s a simple as that. How do you not be miserable? Look for a new job!

You don’t like people

Or more specifically, the people you work with. If you keep finding reasons to not enjoy being around them, because you’re with them more than your family, then it might be time to move on.

You’re feeling negative, stressed out or generally unhappy.

Being anxious just thinking about work is not abnormal, it can be like thinking you’ve left the gas on at home. But if you find yourself worrying about being at work, and then unhappy while you’re at work, maybe now is the time to think about moving on.

The corporate culture is just not you.

Find yourself questioning why your company is doing things? If you find yourself thinking that the morality or the culture of the business just doesn’t sit right with you, then find a business that does.

Where’s the passion?

When you started your morning commute was full of thoughts about the possibilities of what you could end up doing, how you’d contribute to your new job. But if that’s gone, maybe you need to find those possibilities in a new role and reignite your passion!

If looking for a job to get you out of that rut seems like a gargantuan task, then you can always call your local Cordant People branch and let us do the hard work for you!

Good luck!
