Happy Bosses Day everyone! A day dedicated to honouring our bosses for all their kindness and hard work throughout the year. As well as a day devoted to strengthening the bond between employee and employer.

Now, there are plenty of bosses at Cordant People so we decided to go right to the top and asked our Managing Director, Kelly Kendall, what she loves about her job and how she got to where she is today.

How did you get to where you are today, the MD of Cordant People?

“I met with Phillip Ullmann (Chief Energiser), Ken Steers (Group HR Director) and Chris Kenneally (CEO) – and could see an opportunity to build on a solid brand and make it a super brand”.

Whats the most rewarding part of your job?

“Seeing people succeed and working with a great team who are all focused on delivering results”.

What’re some of the challenges you face in your role?

“I’m constantly faced with challenges in this job, the difference is I don’t see them as a challenge – I see them as a way of improving what we are already building on”.

What do you love about your job?

“The people. As well as the fact we can and do, make a difference to our colleagues, candidates, clients and the communities in which we work”.

What advice do you have for anyone hoping to become a boss themselves?

“Treat people how you would want to be treated yourself – a thank you goes a long way. So get to know your team, and what makes them tick, as together – nothing is impossible”.
