Role Description:

Join a dynamic Civil Engineering team as a pivotal member, where your primary focus will be on designing, reviewing, and assessing civil engineering structures.

Your role involves the review, checking, and development of multi-disciplinary models and engineering drawings, primarily for underground construction projects, but also encompassing general civil engineering contributions across various sectors.

The successful candidate will be assigned direct mentorship from the Senior Engineering team to further develop your academic qualifications and past experiences, engaging in tasks such as:

  • Utilising proprietary design software packages like AutoCAD Civil 3D and INFAWorks.
  • Preparing Specifications, Bills of Quantities, and Contract Documents.
  • Exploring design opportunities in areas such as HDD, pipejacking, deep foundations, and highway design.
  • Crafting design drawings and models in 2D, 3D, and BIM formats.
  • Undertaking site inspections.
  • Compiling Tender documentation.
  • Conducting thorough report writing.
  • Coordinating and reviewing project-related correspondence, data, reports, and drawings.
  • Fully developing schedules and cost estimates.

Candidate Specification:

We are seeking candidates who possess the following experience and qualifications:

  • Level 7/8 degree in civil engineering.
  • Exhibit strong analytical skills with a solid foundation in tunnels, deep excavation, piling, and reinforced concrete works.
  • Geotechnical Design/knowledge is desirable
  • Previous experience in general Civil Engineering design.
  • Experience in the Rail sector is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to integrate into an existing team and collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse disciplines.
  • Proficiency in report writing and computer skills.
  • Experience in data manipulation and analysis techniques, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
  • Previous work experience in a design role is preferred.
  • Actively working towards Chartership.
