The Recruitment Co are currently working with the Belfast Trust to recruit for a Band 2 Clerical Officer based in Musgrave Hospital.
Job Summary / Main Purpose
The post holder will provide typing and administrative support to the Orthopaedic Ward and to undertake administrative duties as directed by Team Lead.
Main Duties / Responsibilities
Retrieve and track patient case notes and X-ray/test results from the filing room, other offices and other hospitals as required.
- Answering telephone and taking messages and enquiries from GP’s, patients and other health service staff, and action when appropriate.
- File and maintain records in accordance with Trust policies and procedures
- Printing and photocopying correspondence and other documentation as directed.
- Checking stock levels e.g. stationery, booklets and leaflets and ensuring more supplies are ordered if required
- Preparation of charts for ward rounds, file investigations, amalgamate old notes.
- Collect patient charts, process charts to admin staff for dictation of letters.
- Ensure all patients to ward are admitted and discharged accurately on PAS/Patient Centre.
- District Nurse Referrals.
- Bed Stats.
- Ordering of transport.
- Ensure supplies of admission packs are maintained.
- Liaise with other medical records staff and staff in other departments.
- Any other duties assigned from time to time.

Essential Criteria:
- 4 GCSEs at Grades C or above (to include English Language) or equivalent and
- 1 years’ experience in a clerical / administrative role.
- Experience in the use of at least one
- Microsoft office product or equivalent.
- Ability to work as part of a Team.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Good organisational skills with an ability to prioritise own workload.
- Effective Communications skills to meet the needs of the post in full.
