Job Title: Communications Advisor (Design)
Location: Housing Centre, Belfast

Main Purpose:

As a Communications Advisor (Design) within our Corporate Communications team, you will be a key player in delivering innovative graphic design solutions. Your role is pivotal in supporting the Northern Ireland Housing Executive’s (NIHE) vision of providing affordable, sustainable, and climate-resilient homes. Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary marketing and communications team, you will provide expert graphic design support, ensuring all visual communication aligns with our brand guidelines and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and creative input for internal and external design projects, including social media graphics, infographics, interactive forms, merchandise, signage, pop-ups, leaflets, reports, and exhibitions.
  • Collaborate across multiple projects, meeting deadlines and operating effectively under pressure.
  • Deliver high-quality finished artwork for various design assignments, adhering to brand guidelines and accessibility requirements.
  • Contribute to the re-branding process of NIHE, assisting in the creation of guidelines and design assets.
  • Source appropriate images, ensuring compliance with copyright licenses, and maintaining stock catalog contracts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure efficient filing systems and backup procedures are maintained.
  • Provide exceptional internal and external customer service, resolving queries and enhancing NIHE’s reputation.
  • Represent the Communications Manager when required and adhere to all NIHE frameworks and policies.

General Responsibilities:

  • Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, enhancing NIHE’s reputation.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in graphic design best practices.
  • Undertake project work as directed, contributing to communications strategies and participating in NIHE Resourcing activities.

Person Specification:

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree level qualification (Level 6) in Graphic Design or Level 5 qualification in Graphic Design with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
  • Significant experience in the Apple Mac environment and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent graphic design and visual communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure, meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
